RR-380 Series Urethane Reducer
One reducer for your entire paint system. The RR-380 works in all Revolt urethane and polyester basecoats, clearcoats, and primers, so a single product replaces the separate reducers most brands make you stock. It comes in four speeds keyed to spraying temperature:
- RR-380-60 Fast: for booths above 60°F
- RR-380-70 Medium: for booths above 70°F
- RR-380-80 Slow: for booths above 80°F
- RR-380-90 Extra Slow: for booths above 90°F
RR-380-100 Retarder
For conditions that beat even the Extra Slow reducer. The RR-380-100 is a slower-evaporation solvent that extends flash-off time and improves flow-out when heat and humidity make standard solvent flash too fast. It prevents the blushing and solvent pop caused by rapid solvent release. RR-380-50 Wax & Grease Remover

How to Reduce Your Paint
Reducer thins paint to spraying viscosity and controls how fast it dries. Getting both right takes five steps:
- Speed: Select the reducer for your booth temperature from the speeds listed above.
- Ratio: Reduce to the ratio on the data sheet of the paint you are spraying. The paint sets the reduction amount, not the reducer.
- Mixing: Stir the paint thoroughly before adding reducer, then adjust for conditions.
- Gun setup: 1.3 to 1.5mm tip at 25 to 35 PSI. Apply 2 to 3 medium wet coats with a 5 to 10 minute flash between coats.
- Verification: Spray a test panel before starting the job.

Reducer thins urethane paint to spraying viscosity and controls how fast solvent leaves the film. The correct speed lets the paint flow out level before it sets.
Reducer is formulated for urethane and modern automotive coatings and is matched to temperature. Thinner is a general-purpose solvent associated with lacquer and enamel. Modern urethane systems call for a reducer, not a generic thinner.
Use Fast above 60°F, Medium above 70°F, Slow above 80°F, and Extra Slow above 90°F. Hotter conditions call for a slower speed.
Follow the reduction ratio on the data sheet of the base, clear, or primer you are spraying, then adjust for conditions.
On hot, humid days when even the Extra Slow reducer flashes too fast and you see blushing or solvent pop. Add the RR-380-100 at up to 10% of the mix.
RR-380 is formulated for Revolt urethane and polyester products. For any other brand, confirm compatibility with that manufacturer before mixing.
